Don’t you just love it when not only a game is fun to play together but also gets your brain working too?! Word Master, the 5 letter word guessing game is just that!
How do you play Word Master?
It is very easy to play, here is a run down of how to:
- Firstly the game is for 2-4 players
- Each player gets a game rack and you need to choose 1 of the players to be the host and they will have the alphabet board
- The host chooses a card from the 6 categories (animals, food, sports, music, world and the mystery cards) and they choose one of the 5 lettered words on it
- The players then use the letter tiles to make words that they think may be on the card
- The host keeps checking what the players come up with (a green token means the letter is correct and is in the correct place. The yellow tile means the letter is correct but it is not in the correct place).
- The host puts the wrong letters down on the alphabet board
- The player who gets the word first wins
It’s up to you when the game is over, we did best to 5 as we were having so much fun!

What age is Word Master suitable for?
The box says 5+ years. As long as the child can spell then they will be fine but if a child is not a good speller they may find it more challenging but with the green and yellow tokens this can the encourage them to try other letters etc until they find the correct word or spelling.
We think this is the perfect family game as you get to take turns either playing or being the host. We will definitely be bringing this one to our grandparents house for our family game time on Christmas Day.
