What makes the K’nex sets educational?
Although the set gives you 40 ideas to build, you really can build whatever you can imagine (if it’s really large then you may need more than 1 set) Not only does the set get our brains thinking, it also develops fine motor skills, dexterity, spacial awareness as well as problem solving through using the colour coded rods and connectors which have been designed to slot and snap together.
What age are the K’nex sets suitable for?
The ideal age is 7 years and up as this is around the age that we enjoy imaginative play. As K’nex is a STEM based learning toy, at 7 years old we can more easily play with construction toys with our hands. The sets allow us to explore and create.
Are the sets easy to use?
If you are using the instructions to make the models Basic Fun have designed for us then yes as they have a step by step guide for each model. If you are creating something from your own imagination then it may take a little longer to get the design right as well as changing some of the pieces around but it will be a lot of fun either way.
