It’s easy to just sit and watch the TV or play the Switch but this isn’t doing anything to keep us active or keep our hearts and minds healthy. Mummy is always trying to find new and fun ways to get us playing in the garden and away from the screens.
The Stay Active range has been so great as they have been getting us up off our feet, into the garden and getting our hearts pumping.
This month, we’re excited to bring you their Kicker Ball. Both India and I love to play football so were were very excited by this one. It has 3 easy ways to play like a pro:
Under the Ball:
Strike the ball underneath to launch the ball into the air.
Side of the Ball:
Kicking the ball this way allows anyone to bend, curve and swerve the Kickerball. Kick from the left side and swerve the ball right. Kick from the right side to swerve the ball to the left.
PRO TIP:
For extreme results, make sure to follow through when kicking from either side.
Centre of the Ball:
Strike the centre with your laces and adjust your kicking power to ‘knuckle’ or ‘bend’ the Kicker Ball.
Mummy said that staying active and not sitting in front of YouTube all the time is important because:
- We can become obese if we just sit on our bums all day, we need run around and get our hearts pumping (the Kicker Ball is perfect for this)
- It keeps our minds healthy as we’re not zoned out staring at the screen. We’re using our brains to decide where to hit the ball, how hard, how high
- It improves our movement, balance, co-ordination and reaction time
- When we’re playing with a sibling, friend, parent etc then we’re improving our social skills, self esteem and confidence
- Brings us together as a family as we can compete against each other to see who can do the most keepsy uspsys, we can head the ball to each other and why not arrange a family game of football
